Working my way back...

So I've been bad at blogging and I need to update:)
So we are going to work our way back, starting from the day I went to the hospital..

This is my 28 week belly picture...

A couple weeks before that I had a baby shower thrown for me down here. My sister Mary, My friend Angela, and my sister-in-law Danielle put together such a fun party! The food was so good and the games Angela did were way fun! Thanks girls.

Me and Kelli

The girls from my dental office came:) It's only been a month and a half or so since I had to stop working but I miss it there so much!! Collette, Rachelle, Me, Caitlin, Anna, and Whitney.

Me, Heather and Jamie.

Madi and Trin

Mary and Trinity

Angela, me and Felissa

Me, my mother-in-law Holly and Kooper.

The cute diaper cake Danielle put together!

Danielle, Grandma Ramsay, and my cousin-in-law Liz.

Mary brought a ton of fun things to decorate my house! This is one of the glass jars with boy candy and toys! Thanks to everyone who came, I'm so grateful for such amazing friends and Family. (We got pictures of everyone except my friend Trina who had to leave a little bit before we remembered to take pictures. Congrats to her, she got married a week after my shower)

Two days before my shower was Mary's birthday. They came over to our house for dinner and cake. Happy Birthday Big sissy!!

One of the presents we got from the baby shower was an awesome double stroller from Kole's Grandma. We got it a few days before so we set it up so it could be out for people to see at the shower. It was quite and experience putting it all together but it was fun. Thanks Maureen!

Here is my changing table!!!! My sister Donna and her husband Jared made this for us! It turned out so good. Target had these cute bins on sale and I think it turned out cute:) A cool little feature of this table is that when the boys get potty trained we can take off the top part and it becomes a book shelf!

The week before the shower in St. George we were up North. It was a long weekend but it was so nice to spend time with family (both my mom's side and my dad's) before not being able to travel up there till probably the spring. Saturday night was a family reunion for my mom's side of the family. We took a sister picture while we were there!!:) My brothers both live in different states so they weren't there.

That morning my sister Donna threw me a shower for the up north family and friends!
I love the invitation! :)

Donna made some cute decorations (that are now hanging on the boys bedroom wall)

The food was super good!!

The present table

MaKady helping me with the presents! I love family showers because most everything is homemade! I love it:)

Thank you to everyone who was able to come to this shower! I know some of you still had to travel and I appreciate it! I had fun visiting with everyone:) Thanks for putting everything together Donna, I love ya!

Me and Kole.

Kole handing my dad the flag.

My grandma got a full military funeral for being in the army during WWII.

It was special not only because it honored her service but also because Kole was able to help the American Legion with the folding of the flag.

The last little while has been super busy! We've done a lot and had a lot planned before the babies arrive but because of their attempted escape 2 weeks ago I now have slowed down, pretty much to a complete stop.. I probably wont have fun posts but Oh well, I guess boring posts go along with the life of a bed rested momma:)

(thanks for letting me steal pictures off your blog Donna!)

Hospital stay.....

So the last couple of days have been hard for Kole and I. It's been very scary and things are changing now, a lot faster than I imagined.

(***ps there is a going to be pregnancy terminology in this post so if you get uncomfortable with that stuff you might not want to read***)

It all started sometime last week, I could just feel a change in my body. But if you know me, I'm kind of a stubborn person when it comes to calling doctors cuz most of the time, colds and pains go away. I knew I needed to go in but I just had an appointment where everything was fine and I was a week away from another. So I wrote the changes off as stress (because lately there has been a lot of heartaches going around to everyone I know and I tend to get stressed when things don't go how I think they should) and I also wrote it off as me being super paranoid because I've never had a baby before, let alone two, and I read a lot of books and magazines with lots of information (good and bad).

So anyway... I have been having a lot of braxton hicks contractions, which is normal. But the end of last week it was like my stomach just tightened up and never relaxed. I figured that with two babies I was just running out of room and so when they weren't wiggling and rolling as much as they used to, I thought the same thing. It freaked me out but i could still feel them and knew they were okay.

On Sunday morning I started getting really bad lower back pain. It felt like horrible period cramps mixed with a pinched nerve in my tail bone. My sister Mary told me that it sounded like back labor and so Kole and Mary made me sit down and rest all day, which is very hard for me to do by the way, but it seemed to work. Monday I woke up and went to the bathroom and I thought I had part of my mucous plug come out (this is the pregnancy terminology I was talking about). I was okay until it happened again later. I called my doctor and upped my appointment. Only by a day but I felt a sense of relief knowing I'd be in the next morning.

Kole came home and made me rest some more while he cooked dinner and cleaned everything up. He is so amazing!!

Tuesday morning we went to the doctors. I was officially 28 weeks along but my belly is measuring 38. Babies heart beats sounded perfect. I got my flu shot. And the doctor checked me down there and took some tests. He said I looked okay and that plug didn't come out and I didn't have an infection but he would run the tests and see what they say. I set up an appointment for next week and also an appointment the next day to be hooked up to monitors and see if I was having hard contractions or braxton hicks, and also to have an ultra sound. I went and got some blood work done. I went home to rest, Kole went back to work and we both felt a little better knowing we would have answers soon.
A little after 4 I got a call saying that I needed to go to labor and delivery right then. The test showed that the hormone that women release a week or two before labor had been released and they needed me in there right then to stop preterm labor. I called Kole and told him I didn't know how long I would be but I figured that I'd be given a shot and monitored and sent home in a couple hours.. Boy was I wrong.
I got there and they had me take a pee test and and get in a gown and in bed right away. They hooked up 3 monitors on my belly. One for each of the babies hearts and one to monitor my contractions. They also gave me a painful shot in my butt to help the babies lungs develop faster. I was starting to get really nervous but the nurses were awesome and explained everything as they went along. They also said I'd probably be there all night. I called Kole and told him what was going on. He showed up just as the doctor did so the doctor was able to explain everything to us. I was for sure having painful back labor contractions at this point and the monitor was going crazy showing how bad they actually were. The babies were still okay and heart beats normal. But I also went from not being dilated that morning to being at a 1 (which isn't too bad but at 28 weeks isn't good either). They told me for sure I would be there for the night, gave me some pills to stop/slow my contractions and moved me into a big room where Kole had a pull out couch to sleep on. We had dinner and just layed there watching movies and the monitor. They babies stayed good and my contractions slowed amazingly!! I wasn't in pain anymore! About every six hours, which is when it's time for me to take my contraction pills, is when I would start to get a little uncomfortable, but other than that I was okay, just scared still. I was just hoping that everything would stay going smoothly, 28 weeks is way to early for babies to be born! The nurses were so awesome through all of this! And so was Kole. He seriously is so amazing and stays so strong for me. The only time i could get out of bed was to go to the bathroom, which was often cuz during my stay I went through 4 IV bags, apparently I was a little dehydrated as well, so even though I feel like I drink a crap load of water it wasn't enough so now I need to drink A TON!!! Anyway, everytime I had to go it was quite an ordeal. We had to unhook like a millions cords and I had to drag the IV tower in with me. Even in the middle of the night Kole would get up to help me. I sure do love him.
The next morning the doctor checked on me and everything was going great. I was still dilated to a 1 but not progressing at all. I had an ultra sound and everything is good with the kids. They have plenty of fluid and are moving so much more, now that my stomach isn't so tight. They are measuring different but both are still in the normal range. Kollin is about 3.2lbs and measuring 29 weeks and Kleyton is about 2.9lbs and measuring almost 28 weeks. Definitely two different little boys in there.
I was able to take a shower and breakfast and lunch were pretty tasty and it was nice that it was delivered right to me. Hospital stays are a new experience for both Kole and I. We are both so amazed at how awesome everyone was.
We hung out all day because I needed to wait till 5 to get the second steroid shot for the babies. we watched some more movies and Koles mom came to visit. It was a long day but it was so good to know that we were in capable hands in case something went wrong.
The doctor got there and checked me again and I was still at a 1 which is way good. My contractions are controlled with my pills and babies stayed strong the whole time.
So after the scare and all that I am now on strict instructions....
I am on complete bed rest and can pretty much only get out of bed when i need to go to the bathroom. So that means, I will be missing a lot of things. I will be missing things I feel like i need to support family and friends with. I will be missing my favorite time of year and all the fun things to do, like driving to look for fall colors and deer hunting and taking night time walks in the cool crisp air. I am going to get cabin fever like crazy!! Today is only day 1 at home on bed rest and I already feel so completely bored and Lazy. BUT.... All of this will be worth it, even if it only is 1 more week, that gives my babies that much extra time to grown naturally and less time in the NICU. My doctor told us that he doesn't think I will have a problem keeping them in there 1 more month, if not longer, if I obey the rules. Which is good to know and I will do anything for my boys. Thank you to all the family and friends who have already shown so much support, love and concern for us. We really appreciate everything. And all of you who said you want to help, I'm pretty sure in a few days I will be craving visitors! Especially while Kole is working, so feel free to stop by anytime!! :) If anything changes I will keep this thing updated, and if not me updating I will get my husband involved in the blogging world just like he has to do everything else right now. Thanks for all you do honey!
