11 months

It's crazy how time flies!!
My boys are 11 months old today!
They are the busiest babies ever and I love them to pieces.

Kollin-  crawls everywhere, stands himself up and is starting to walk while holding onto stuff.  He says a lot of words but most of them sound like a D sound,  he says it in different tones so we know what he wants. (Dad means mom,  da-da means dad, duh means Donna,)  He can say bubbles on a good day.  And is polite and will say thank you on occation. Oh, he also says YA when he means yes. He is all boy and has bruises from crawling into things or falling into things .  He likes to steal toys from anyone.  He is also starting to crawl up into things, like the dishwasher or onto a box, the other day he even got into his friend Kylers toy car.  Lately he's been eating everything.,  not only his food but grass, or dirt, any crumb he can find on the floor.  after his dinner he will even go and mooch off other peoples plates.  He gives kisses but only if you say "MUAH!"  and when he is tired and wants to be held he holds on for dear life like a monkey and I LOVE it!  He has 4 teeth.  his bottom 2 and his top 2 baby canines.  He still wakes up in the night which drives me crazy!  And he loves being outside.

Kleyton- has caught up to Kollin in the moving department.  sometimes he's even faster than Kollin is who has been crawling a full month before him.  He stands up holding onto things to but is still wobbly when it comes to walking in any direction.  He has 4 teeth, his top two and bottom two and they have little gaps between them!  he is so stinkin cute!!  He also has a ton of bruises but most of his are from his brother beating up on him.  Although lately he's starting to pick on Kollin too!  Boys,... what can ya do!?!  He is not much of an eater and when he does eat, he is super picky!  He does sleep well though which is nice.  He gets so excited when he see's a picture of his daddy or we get to skype with him and will start saying "Da-Da,  Hi daddy! hi!" and will wave at him and give him a giant cheeser grin!  When I get the boys out of bed I always say Good Mornin!  and ask them how they've slept.  Kleyton always says "good"  Kleyton is also very good at entertaining himself and if he's left alone, he will play with one toy for a long time:)

I love being a mommy and I am so thankful that I was given these two little boys.  Although it has been very hard at times it has definetly been worth it!

Mommy loves you and is SUPER excited for your birthdays in 1 month!!!

The life of a stay at home mom and auntie...

My life sure is a busy one.  Feeding, changing, cleaning, playing, busy, busy, busy... But I still manage to get some cute pictures in the mix....

Kollin learning how to stand by himself.

Lucas with his ice cream truck find..

Probably to big for the bouncer..

Helping mommy with dishes!

Kleyton can now sit up from laying and can stand by himself... it's now time to put up the side of the crib.

I found this awesome DVD from THIS BLOG that actually keeps the kids entertained for 10 minutes so I can get something done while they are awake.

REALLY time to put this thing away...

Yummy banana!  I was holding Kleyton on the counter while I was on the phone and writing something down (don't worry, when you have twins you magically grow 5 extra arms) and when I was able to actually pick him up he'd grabbed a banana and bit through it.  Guess he was hungry :)

I have tons more pictures and things to post but I only have a few more minutes till the boys wake up from their nap so this will have to do today!  And thanks to those of you who gave me your fashion advice!

Fashion Advice...

This morning I was in a comfy clothes kind of mood so I put this shirt on that I got from Target a couple of years ago.  As I was buttoning it up I realized that I might have been wearing it WRONG all this time.  Although there are buttons on this side, there is also the tag on this side instead of the 'normal' place for a tag.  Then I got to thinking.... There are pockets on the other side... Hmmm who would put pockets on the back of a shirt?  but then again, who would put buttons on the back of a shirt?  SEE MY DILEMMA?!?!

So I'm asking..  What way looks best?
That means I want an answer from ALL OF YOU WHO READ MY BLOG.  Regardless of weather you've never posted a comment or I have no idea who you are and you're just passing through.  I really really want more than 2 peoples advice, just for fun:)
thanks!

The little Mermaid

For my niece MaKady's birthday a couple of weeks ago we went to 'The little Mermaid" at Tuacahn.
It was such a fun girls night (Thanks again Jared for watching my boys!!)
And it seriously was such an amazing performance!!!  The new water features, and what they did with black lights were AMAZING!!!  I hate watching plays on DVD but if this one is sold anywhere I would totally buy it!!

Peaches and Projects

About a month ago Donna and I canned some peaches.  It was my first time and they turned out pretty good!  It is definitely more fun doing it with some one else than it would be doing it alone.

Everyday I try and do something extra fun with my nephew Lucas while the babies are down for their nap.  Sometimes we watch a movie, read books, play games, go outside, or do some sort of educational thing.  He loves puzzles and one day we made our very own out of cardboard and scrapbook paper:)

I've been trying to do a couple fixer upper projects on the house and these UGLY monstrosities on the front of my house have been bugging me for 2 years!  I hated that the whole rest of my house was nicely filled with beautiful oil rubbed bronze features but the front of the house has these, ugly (I thought sun worn but really just painted this way) lights.

My brother-in-law Jared took them down for me and I got to work...

Primed..

And painted... PS  even though you use spray paint make sure you wear gloves because you could end up with hands like this... that you basically have to take a razor blade to, to get anything off.

And WA LA!!!  I can now breath a happy breath when I drive up to my house instead of a holding my breath from embarrassment.

And the total cost for this little project... a whopping $5.83   :)

                       Before
                                                   After

Another thing that has been a bugger for the two years we lived here is this beauty..
Our home is plumbed for a central vacuum unit but the builder never finished.  When we bought the house we were told that this pipe was part of it, so I've had to trip over and look at this eyesore ever since.  It was bugging my brother--law enough that he got down there to see if he could cut it off at all.

When he took the duct tape off that was holding onto some wires this is what he found....

A pipe that says 'DO NOT GLUE' on the side of it..... so basically it was there just so some wires wouldn't get lost under the cabinets.  I have no clue why they couldn't have just taped them to the inside of the hole....

Now I no longer have an eyesore :)

Little projects are slowly coming along... at least I have something else to keep me busy though right?

9/11

Ten years ago today the world changed forever.  It changed in so many ways and still effects us today.  For the past month I've heard and read nothing but stories and have seen pictures from that terrible day...Because it is the 10 year anniversary I decided to share my journal entry from that day.  It is in a purple journal with a picture of Jesus and a little girl on the front and to mark that page I have an American flag.  (*keep in mind I was 14 years old and some of the things I wrote in my journal may or may not be factual and also I must have been quite a space case back then because I was all over the place with what I wrote*)
As I lay in bed that night listening to Larry King Live that was playing on my sisters TV I wrote this......

Dear Diary,

'It's like Pearl Harbor' some might say or 'It's the beginning of World War 3.' Early this morning 4 planes were Hijacked.  One flew into one of the twin towers, 18 minutes later to an hour another one hit the other tower.  An hour later the second tower (that was hit) collapsed then about an hour later, I think, the first collapsed.  One of the other planes crashed into the pentagon and the other one was going to Chicago to crash into the Sears tower but crashed in a Field in Pittsburgh.  President Bush went into hiding but is now in the White House.  It was a terrorist act.  All airports are closed and tons of buildings and schools are closed all across America.  Everyone is coming together to help.  They think 10,000 or more people were in the towers and died.  Tons of people made it out of the buildings 200 and something people died in the plane crashes.  All of our enemy countries are celebrating, especially the Palestinians.  We don't know which country did it but everyone, including the government, thinks that Asama Bin Laden sent terrorists to do it.  I'm scared and hope we don't go to war.  The first time I heard about it I was walking into 1st period, drama, and this kid told me that 3 planes crashed.  2 in New York and one at the Pentagon.  I didn't think much of it but I went into 2nd and we watched the news and I felt and saw the impact.  All I can do is pray and hope for the best.  I hope nothing more bad happens.   ---I go on to talk about what I wore that day and about a boy I had a crush on---   they just put a song on the radio (God bless America)  It's making me cry.  I love living in America.  One lady got a hold of her husband on the phone while she was on the plane.  She said the hijackers were armed with knives and box cutters.  And there was more than one hijacker.  In  5th we talked about it and watched the news.  ---I talk more about boys---- In seminary we talked about it, and that's when it hit me.  Just how many people actually died.  Oh, and there are 100 and something hospitals in New York and all of them are filled up.  Oh and they are also saying that Asama Bin Laden said that he was going to do this 3 weeks ago, but he is always making threats.  After school I started my first day of swim team.  It was fun.  I'm so tired though.  Barbara Olsen was the lady in the plane who called her husband Ted.  She died when the plane hit the Pentagon. Oh, and a building by the twin towers collapsed too.   Tons of places are evacuated. 200 and something firefighters are dead.  83 or so policemen are missing.  People jumped out of the windows.  All schools in New York are closed.  ----    I don't know if I believe it happened, I keep thinking maybe the towers are still standing.  It's all just a dream.  But I know deep inside it's not.  The Empire state building is now that tallest building in New York.    ----I go on talking about my sisters birthday party and how YW was cancelled----  Tons of other countries are supporting and helping us.  And the country that Asama Bin Laden is from is going to do a search for him in the country..

I am so grateful for this great country we live in.  I am proud to be an American.  Out of great adversity came great strength and together we can do anything.  I am so grateful for my family, for the blessing it is to be a mother to my sweet boys, and for my husband.  He is an amazing man and I am so proud of what he has chosen to do for our country and for us.  I hope everyone can remember where they were that day and send up a little prayer for those who lost their loved ones.

three birthday kind of weekend

I've been awful with pictures lately and every time we go some where fun I totally forget to bring it along..  this  particular weekend was one of those times.  I didn't totally forget it but a few of the places I did.
My brother in law and his family from up north came down a couple weekends ago to celebrate their sons birthday, as well as my sister-in-law Danielle and her son's birthday.

That Saturday we all went to Jumpin Jacks and Oh man!  I think I had way more fun than my kids did.  They were scared of the loud noises and tired but they had fun just playing on the cushy floor with everyone.  I had fun (and have the burns on my elbows to prove it!),  we did a bunch of races on the blow up things.  I will definitely take them back when they are a little older.

We all went our separate ways for lunch and naps and later went over to Danielle's for a big birthday BBQ...

Finally our kids are old enough to sit and play together !!

Kollin had a lot of fun just sitting in the sprinkler.  Every time I would try to pull him out he kept crawling for it, so I just let him get soaked, and he LOVED it!

MaKady, Donna, and Kollin enjoying the nice weather...

Korbin, Karter, Danielle, Kooper, and Madi

Boosty and Kleyton

The three birthday people!!

Cake FIGHT!!!

My boys just love Sadie!

I for some reason didn't get any pics of Kris, but he was there and the BBQ was Yummy!

The next day we went out to the river and played in the water for a while.  My boys took naps so I was able to float down stream for a little bit with some of the family and when they woke up they sat and played with Kooper, eating Cheetos's and dirt.  They loved it!

I wish I would have been better at taking pictures but I know Megan took a ton so I will have to get some from her!

Anyway..  good weekend :)
