I've been dreading this day for a while. Kole had to leave for a work trip and I haven't really been without him since he got back from Iraq. I'm a pretty clingy wife, just ask him... so when he leaves for any amount of time I get really bummed out and am not the funnest to be around. Anyway we woke up early and had to get him to the airport so the boys wore their jammies and I was styling some sort of 'swishy' hair style (as my hubby would call it). As soon as we pulled up to the airport road i felt sick, the last time we drove to drop Kole off at this airport was when he was deployed and lets be honest here, that day sucked! I know he wont be gone long at all, but to me anytime with out my husband is hard.
When we started driving off Kollin started crying for his daddy and I knew that today was going to be a long one. I had been debating all night and morning weather I really wanted to brave church with 2, 18 month old boys (yes thats right, they will be a year and a half TOMORROW!!). I was thinking maybe I'd skip sacrament, or just not go at all, but I better because i need them to get used to nursery, but I don't feel all that great and Kleyton has a runny nose, Kollin has a little cough ...back and forth back and forth.... I decided that we'd get ready and then leave from there. So if it took us till 10 then we'd just go to classes but if we were ready earlier then we'd listen to sacrament out in the hall. Kollin kept getting into things he wasn't supposed to and completely ignoring all that I told him so I put him in time out and said 'look mr. just because daddy is working doesn't mean you can act this. You need to be a good boy so this time can go by smoothly. That way you can be happy and Kleyton can be happy and mommy can be happy.' I think at that moment I was talking more to myself than my baby. I needed to change my attitude so time could go by quicker and smoother. But it helped that he started obeying me after that little pep talk :) We got ready by 9 and made it to church just in time for the sacrament song. We sat in the back on the metal chairs and lo and behold my babies were angels through all of it!! They went to nursery and I snuck out and went to both of my classes uninterrupted. So far the day was good.
After church we hung up their artwork in their bedroom, had lunch, played with cars, made carmels and had naps...Well, they napped, I blogstalked.
After eating my 1 carmel..(okay 5th carmel) I decided that a nice leisurely stroll around the neighbor hood was in order. The boys woke up from their nap far from happy but as soon as I mentioned going out side they were searching for their shoes like they were lost treasure. We did our normal 1 mile rout and thankfully I brought water bottles because jeans, a dark brown t-shirt and sun DO NOT MIX! I had sweat dripping down my face the size of golf balls and my nose was stuffing up from allergies so my mouth was hanging open so I could breath. I'm sure I looked awesome. When we got home they did not want to go inside, While I swung on our new porch swing (hey, taxes had to go to something fun other than bills and things that needed to be fixed, right?) and blew bubbles, they chased the bubbles, swung with me, ripped grass out of the ground and watched it float down when they let go, they climbed on our table for the 100th time and listened to me telling them to get down for the 100th, they played in the dirt and poured water on their feet, and I loved watching them. We made dinner and ate it and the whole time they kept saying 'FISH, FISH!' because we were eating fish tacos and apparently they were yummy and they wanted more. After dinner we played with cars some more and watched a little good luck charlie because my boys definitely have a crush on Charlie.. They sat in their camp chairs and ate fruit snacks and had their own little twin conversation in their own little twin language. We had bath time, Kollin peed on my carpet and Kleyton got out of the tub and streaked around the house, around the couch twice before I finally caught him ( He's getting way, WAY to fast!) They giggled as i lotioned them up and into their jammies while they tried to get away from me. More cars were played with, more hugs and kisses were given, alone time with each of the boys was a special treat that never happens,, but tonight which ever kid I was not hanging out with at the moment was in the playroom playing quietly. Songs were sung, teeth were brushed, kisses to everyone, into bed.... ---Good night my babies, I had a great day with you! The only thing that would have made it a better Sunday would have been your Daddy here too:) but he'll be home soon and we'll have a day just like this, to share with him too.---
