My carpel tunnel has been acting up because...

I've been working on the biggest project I've done EVER!!  You know a couple months ago when I said I was doing projects and also the last month I've been trying to get things done before Kole came home, well... this is the BIG REVEAL!!

Since even before Kole got deployed I was slowly starting to collect things for my master bedroom.  I was coupon and sale shopping, looking for the best deals and holding out to find the perfect thing, or two... I even was scouring pinterest for cheap ideas.  It took me 6 months but I finally rounded everything up and started at the beginning of November after all the birthday festivities were over and done with so I could move on to it.

The reason for the redo is well, because it was never really ever done.... When Kole and I bought this house we were newlyweds.  Here is our house when we first moved in.  We didn't have a lot and what we did have, were hand-me-downs (which we are so grateful we had) but we didn't have a ton that matched nor the funds to over haul this whole house and hire an interior decorator. So we did the best we could with what we had,  we scrimped and saved for the new pieces we were able to buy and our house is put together enough that I will gladly entertain, except our bedroom, It was our throw all and it's okay if it's not put together room because who really goes into someones bedroom?   When we did give house tours to people who visited it was always the room we would make excuses for.  you know ' Don't mind our closet, we don't have room for that so it's in here for now'  or 'Don't mind the bed on the floor, we bought it when I was pregnant and we didn't have the cash at the time to get a frame for it too.'  You  know.. excuses.  Eventually I would love to go from room to room and decorate/paint/theme but it will take time and we bought this house to stay in for a while and I'm in no rush.  I decided to do our Master sweet area first because I wanted it to be a place we looked forward to sleeping in and felt happy to wake up in.  I wanted Kole to be able to come home from his deployment and feel comfortable and relaxed.  And I really, REALLY wanted an adult bedroom!  So after this LONG story most of you probably skipped over(I don't blame you)  and with out further ado here are the before and afters of the Redo.  ENJOY!

BEFORE!

AFTER
painted the wall green, redid the dresser and got a new rug from walmart.

I had to putty the holes in some of the drawers because this dresser is so old they no longer make handles those sizes.

The rocking chair I refinished for the babies room a year ago.

Redid this dresser too.  I'm over sanding from other projects I've done so primer and paint was all that went on it and it was just as good as if I sanded the whole thing :)

painted a mirror.

Sewed the curtains because it literally is 1/2 the price to make your own!
Comforter set and lamps from Walmart.
Night stands from ikea.
Bed frame I bought from my neighbor and refinished it too!

I didn't get a very good picture of it but I painted the archway into the bathroom the same green as the opposing wall.

new candles.
jars from TJmaxx filled with soap, q tips, and cotton balls.
Rugs from TJmaxx as well.

My pinterest inspired project!  cheap frames from walmart turned into jewelry holders.

Towels from Walmart.

 the same green wall color.
And this HEAVY mirror that used to be on the dresser (that has the TV on it) that I just painted white and distressed a little.  I also had to put screws in the back so I could attach a hanging wire. (pain in the butt!)

Spray painted the cream plastic trash can the same color I used for this project so I didn't have to spend the money on a new rustic bronse one.

new shelf from walmart (only $19.99) :)

The END!
